As a practicing artist, I take great pleasure in the creative activities involving imagination and innovation through the process of making. My website here at davidschnuckel.com is the venue that showcases those efforts. However, as an aspiring writer, I take great pleasure in the creative activities of observation, consideration, and assessment. I’ve decided to set up an alternate space online that showcases those efforts, too.

This Tumblr account is really meant to serve as a venue to showcase writings I’ve done in the past…not only on my own work and practice, but mostly unbiased pieces analyzing exhibitions or the embodiment of the artistic efforts of others. The "News" tab here on this website will host short blurbs consisting of updates relevant to my practice and career as an artist. However, this link to "David Schnuckel Uses His Words" will be a place where written projects - published and unpublished - will be on view.

As you’ll notice along the way, I’m not a professional writer…nor have I had any specific training in the craft. I am simply a fan of language and an advocate for clarity, taking pleasure in the challenge of attempting to articulate that which intellectually, poetically, and/or imaginatively overwhelms me.
